CONCERTS

Butler - The Butler County Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Elisabeth Heath-Charles, will present its Family Pops Concert, Modern America, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the of the Butler Intermediate High School auditorium, 551 Fairground Hill Road. Seats, $15 for adults and $5 for students, are reserved and can be obtained in Butler at the Symphony Association Office, 259 S. Main St. Adult tickets at the door are $18. DANCE

ENTERTAINMENT

Bellevue - The Assumption Theatre Guild will perform the musical "Annie" at 7 p.m. Saturday and March 20 and 2 p.m. March 14 and 21, at McGovern Hall, Assumption Church, 45 N. Jackson Ave. Prices are $8 for adults and $6 for children 11 and under and senior citizens. Call 412-369-5646 for tickets.

FOR SENIORS

Marshall - Marshall Township Parks and Recreation is offering Silver Scholars basic computer classes specifically designed for individuals over the age of 50, although everyone is invited. Classes will be held at the municipal building, 525 Pleasant Hill Road; all classes are limited to 10 students. Sign up at the recreation department or call 724-935-3090, ext. 115. Tuition is $40 for residents, $42 for nonresidents.

North Park - Golfers ages 55 and older are eligible for $60 senior passes at North and South park golf courses beginning Monday. The passes may be purchased from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the North and South park clubhouses. Locker rentals may also be purchased for $25 each. The courses will close on Monday for regular season preparation. Regular season play will begin at the North and South park golf courses on March 26, weather and conditions permitting. FUNDRAISERS

Butler - Victim Outreach Intervention Center will hold a Mardi Gras Gala from 7:30 p.m. until midnight March 27 at The Mansion, 141 Mansion Lane. The gala will feature games, door prizes and more. Tickets cost $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Proceeds will benefit survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent crimes. Hampton - Hampton Community Library, 3101 McCully Road, will hold a Swing into Spring fundraiser at 7 p.m. March 26 featuring the big-band sounds of Johnny Angel and Joe Lagnese and the Swingtet 8. Tickets are $40 single, $75 couple, $225 table of six and includes hors doeuvres from Atria's and a complimentary beverage. West View - The Ladies Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars will hold a card party at noon March 23 at the post, 386 Perry Highway. Lunch will be served at noon; cost is $8. Proceeds benefit cancer patients.

LENTEN ACTIVITIES

Pine - St. Alphonsus Church, 201 Church Road, is serving Lenten fish dinners from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. every Friday through Good Friday. Takeout is available by calling 724-935-9893 after 3 p.m. on Fridays.

LIBRARIES

MEETINGS

McCandless - Certified genealogist Elissa Scalise Powell will explain how to find the probate records of ancestors' property distribution during the next North Hills Genealogists meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Northland Public Library, 300 Cumberland Road. Call Elissa at 724-935-6961.

Shaler - Symphony North will meet at the Glenshaw Presbyterian Church, 300 Glenn Ave. Tuesday. Social time starts at 11 a.m., meeting at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 12:15 p.m. and a performance by Nikki Kuhn and Joyce Strobel on flute and piano at 1:15 p.m. The lunch menu is a variety of soups, salads and desserts. RECREATION

North Park - Registration is now open for the 14th staging of the Rachel Carson Trail Challenge June 19. Registration is also open for the Rachel Carson Trail Homestead Challenge, an 18-mile hike from near the Rachel Carson Homestead in Springdale to North Park. The third event is the Rachel Carson Trail Friends & Family Challenge, an eight-mile trek from Hartwood Acres Park in Indiana Township to North Park. Aspinwall - Liz Lingle will speak about teaching while on sabbatical at the Good Samaritan School in St. Marc, Haiti, at the St. Scholastica Pastoral Center on Brilliant Avenue, next door to the church, at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.
