Pitt trustees' committee OKs construction projects
Tuesday, March 16, 2010

The University of Pittsburgh trustees' budget committee gave its blessing on Monday to several construction projects, including a $28.2 million upgrade to physics and astronomy department laboratories.

The lab expansion and improvement, dubbed by Pitt the Midcampus Complex Renovations, Phase 2, is expected to encompass 13 new or renovated labs, primarily in Allen Hall, Old Engineering Hall and the nuclear physics laboratory, Pitt said.

The budget committee approved the funding for it and several other projects, all authorized last month by the trustees' property and facilities committee.
